Amid a health scare that made headlines in recent weeks, Kris Aquino said she was “scolded” by politician Teodoro “Teddy Boy” Locsin Jr., a family friend and the former spokesperson of the actress’ late mother, former President Corazon Aquino.
Locsin, the newly appointed Foreign Affairs Secretary, expressed his dismay with Aquino through a text message, after she congratulated him on his latest government post.
Aquino shared Locsin’s message in a recent post on Instagram.
Locsin said: “Hi Kris. Thanks. But I am angry you do not take good care of yourself. Yeah I am astounded by your energy and tireless commitment to be the best in your field and you do it even without a TV Station. BUT your first duty is to your health.”
“I lost your mother because she thought of her duties first before her health. I am old. Don't let me go through that again. Take care. My best to Ballsy and Viel, Pinky and Noy,” he added, referring to Aquino’s siblings.
Corazon Aquino died in 2009, a year after being diagnosed with colon cancer.
Kris, 47, was recently diagnosed with chronic spontaneous urticaria, an autoimmune disease.
In her Instagram post, Aquino referred to Locsin as “one of the few people who can still scold me like I was still 16 years old.” She said Locsin has known her since she was a toddler.
Locsin’s message to Aquino followed a tumultuous month for the actress, whose had drastically lost weight, resulting from her then-undiagnosed autoimmune disease, and the “stress” from a business “betrayal” she has since taken to court.
