MANILA — Former actress Gretchen Barretto is planning to sue a nephew in relation to the controversial scuffle that ensued during her father Miguel’s wake on October 16.
Gretchen alleged that the nephew, whom she opted to not name at the time this story was posted, was carrying a gun when the commotion happened at The Heritage Park in Taguig.
She is preparing to file a complaint over the supposed threat of her nephew, she told ABS-CBN News on Friday.
Gretchen’s mention of the gun is a new detail of the physical confrontation involving several family members, which first came to light through accounts of eyewitnesses.
The reports were subsequently confirmed by Gretchen in a statement to ABS-CBN News on Thursday, where she claimed that Marjorie, her sister with whom she has been feuding, “had a nervous breakdown.”
Gretchen also alleged that Marjorie rejected her attempt to “shake hands,” as encouraged by President Rodrigo Duterte, who was condoling with the family.
Sources of ABS-CBN News who were at the wake earlier said the Presidential Security Group helped break up the fight that followed involving other relatives.
Marjorie, in an Instagram post on Friday, said she plans to “tell the truth” once their father Miguel has been laid to rest.
Aside from being involved in the October 16 incident, Marjorie is also being accused of Gretchen’s camp of attacking their youngest sister, Claudine, resulting in the latter’s hospitalization the following night. — with a report from Mario Dumaual, ABS-CBN News
