MANILA - "Pahinga ka muna."

This is what actor Dennis Padilla told his daughter Julia Barretto, amid the controversy involving her, Gerald Anderson and Bea Alonzo.

Padilla also said he advised his daughter to ignore messages she receives as reacting to the issue will only make things worse.

As a father, Padilla admitted he was affected by the issue involving his daughter.

"May mga pagkakataon na 'yung mga bashers, parang gusto kong isa isang puntahan sa bahay at gulpihin," he said.

Padilla earlier admitted reaching out to Anderson about his daughter, but he has yet to receive a reply from the younger actor.

Prior to the unanswered text messages, Padilla did have a phone conversation with Anderson at the height of the controversy.

Anderson was Barretto’s first-time co-star in the romance film “Between Maybes,” released early this year. Their relationship became the subject of rumors after Anderson’s breakup with Alonzo, his girlfriend of three years.

Both Anderson and Barretto have denied being involved romantically. They also clarified that their respective breakups — Anderson with Alonzo, and Barretto with Joshua Garcia — had nothing to do with each other
