Amid criticisms hurled at the organizers behind the recent “Miss Granny” premiere, Nadine Lustre clarified on Tuesday that she was “not treated badly,” contrary to the impression of some of the actress’ fans who sought answers from Viva Films.

Lustre attended the premiere night last August 20 to support her boyfriend James Reid, who stars in the film alongside Sarah Geronimo and Xian Lim. Lim’s rumored girlfriend and erstwhile onscreen partner, Kim Chiu, was similarly at the event.

Both actresses were seated apart from their leading men, fans who monitored premiere observed. Chiu, in particular, had to move to a farther seat from Lim after being informed that her initial seat was reserved for someone else.

Addressing the viral video, Chiu confirmed last week that she did have to transfer seats, but that it was “nothing biggy” as both her and the ticket holder got to see the movie anyway. “Let’s talk about how good the movie is, and not this small incident,” she tweeted at the time.

On Monday, as Viva Films on Twitter called on moviegoers to see “Miss Granny,” several apparent fans of Lustre brought up the supposed “mess” that was the seating arrangement of the premiere night. This led the film outfit to release a short statement clarifying what had happened.

“May nakalaang upuan po sa lahat ng aming mga bisita. Ang di po namin makokontrol ay kung may plus 1 o 2 na kasama ang aming mga bisita na wala sa aming master guest list. Gayunpaman, maraming salamat sa iyong paalala, kaibigan,” it tweeted.

Lustre similarly took to Instagram Stories on Tuesday to set the record straight, urging those who are “throwing hate” to stop “being angry for nothing.”

She wrote: “Hey, before things get crazier, just here to clarify… I had a reserved seat but I [chose] to sit with our friends. I’m a little bit disappointed with people throwing hate without knowing the reason behind this. I hope this clears out the issue that was never there in the first place.

“I’m going to say this again. There was no issue. I wasn’t treated badly. I’m not protecting anyone nor cleaning up anyone’s mess. I’m telling you all what actually happened, so you stop being angry for nothing. Alright? Okay.”
