When Ian Prelligera first joined "The Voice Kids" in 2016, he failed to make it past the Sing-Offs.

Now, he's back and he's looking to take his journey further into the competition, his dreams buoyed by an apparent renewed sense of confidence and having developed a bit of showmanship.

For his blind audition, Prelligera put his own spin on the often-performed "Buwan," an original song by Juan Karlos.

It only took half a second into the song's first chorus for all of the coaches, including Sarah Geronimo, who was not part of the show when Prelligera first joined, to turn their chairs for him.

Geronimo, in an attempt to sway the 11-year-old from Albay to join her team, said that him trying again in "The Voice Kids" and her returning as a coach might have been "fate" at work.

Bamboo praised Prelligera for his unique take on "Buwan."

Prelligera eventually chose Lea Salonga as his coach, after the Broadway star pointed out the massive improvement in the way he performed. "Now there's swag, there's confidence in how you command [attention] and look at the audience," Salonga said.

Prelligera is just one of the two new recruits Salonga managed to get on Saturday's episode of the talent search.

He joins John Rey Custodio, also 11, as part of "FamiLea."

Custodio sang Janine Teñoso's "Di Na Muli" and Salonga said that she trusted her gut feeling when she turned for him.
