“Maghanda-handa ka na.”
These were the televised words of Vice Ganda for Gerald Anderson, his rival team captain in the upcoming All-Star Games on August 25.
The comedy superstar aired his “warning” for the actor in the live episode of “It’s Showtime” on Tuesday.
In an apparent reference to the recent controversy involving Anderson, Vice Ganda said, in jest, that he would guard the Star Magic artist closely.
“May nag-utos sa akin bantayan ko raw,” he said.
The topic of basketball came up during the “Tawag ng Tanghalan” segment of the noontime show, when a contestant talked about his past aspiration of going pro.
The All-Star Games, which will be held at the Araneta Coliseum, has been the subject of intrigues and jokes following the controversial separation of Anderson and actress Bea Alonzo.
Anderson and Vice Ganda’s match-up in the men’s basketball category is just one of the lined up events. The women’s volleyball game will be between the teams of Julia Barretto and Kim Chiu.
Chiu happens to be a former girlfriend of Anderson, while Barretto is being romantically linked with Anderson.
