MANILA — For the past seven years they’ve been together, Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla have time and again credited each other as their “inspiration.”
But Padilla apparently couldn’t help but make sure that was still the case, as seen in a video that has gone viral on Twitter.
The video shows the real-life couple with fellow Kapamilya stars Maymay Entrata and Edward Barber in a recent episode of “iWant ASAP” in San Jose, California.
Padilla congratulated both Bernardo and Entrata for the massive success of their film, “Hello, Love, Goodbye.”
This prompted Entrata to tease that Bernardo was “inspired” by a certain individual as she gently pushed her co-star towards Padilla.
“Siguraduhin mong ako, ha!” Padilla told Bernardo in jest, prompting laughter from Entrata and Barber.
The remark, in the context of “Hello, Love, Goodbye,” was an apparent reference to Bernardo being paired with a different leading man, Alden Richards, for the first time.
The playfulness didn’t stop there. Pretending to be in a quarrel, Bernardo chased Padilla, who shielded himself with a kicking gesture.
The “kilig” interaction, at least according to “KathNiel” fans, was a glimpse of Padilla’s subtle way of being “seloso” or jealous.
They brought up a similar exchange during the couple’s “ASAP Natin’ To” performance, where Padilla caught Bernardo off-guard by asking her whether she is still in love with him.
