MANILA - Maricar Reyes paid tribute to ABS-CBN after its franchise application was denied by a committee of the House of Representatives last Friday.
In a lengthy Instagram post, Reyes said she will never forget how ABS-CBN got her back, especially when she was “at the lowest point of my public life.”
“Nandun sila LAHAT para tumulong,” she said.
Reyes said she really thought Congress would still grant a franchise to the network, which is a home to thousands of employees now at the risk of losing their jobs.
“I really thought Congress would still grant them a franchise, then give the proper consequences for any proven violations... But the decision was not up to me, but to the elected officials. I will respect that,” she said.
Following what happened, Reyes said she will be praying for those who are worried about their future.
“Please don't lose hope... there is always a way out of the darkest situations. God is just and righteous. And He knows better than we ever will. Let's trust Him on this,” she said.
“In the future we will all understand WHY this happened. Till, then... mahigpit na YAKAP SA LAHAT NG NAGHIHIRAP ngayong panahon ng pandemya — KAPAMILYA MAN O HINDI,” she added.
