MANILA – Kathryn Bernardo pledged her undying support for ABS-CBN after some lawmakers decided to deny the renewal of its franchise on Friday, keeping the network's main broadcast platforms off the air and places thousands of jobs at risk.
On Instagram, Bernardo shared a photo of herself with boyfriend Daniel Padilla outside the ABS-CBN compound.
Addressing her message directly to the company that built her career, Bernardo said: “Ang dami mong pinagdaanan nitong mga nakaraang buwan.
As one of its prized talents, Bernardo vowed not to leave the network in its trying times.
Kakayanin natin 'to nang magkakasama,” she added.
The actress closed her message with a firm declaration of her love for her home network.
“Mahal kita, ABS-CBN. Tandaan mo 'yan,” she wrote.
Aside from Bernardo, many other celebrities have gone to social media to express their support for the broadcast giant after what happened last Friday.
Some were bold in condemning the House committee decision blocking ABS-CBN's franchise application amid concerns about media freedom under President Rodrigo Duterte, who critics have scored for authoritarian policies.
