MANILA - Darren Espanto on Sunday celebrated his birthday and fifth career anniversary on "ASAP Natin 'To" with a medley of songs.
Espanto opened his performance with his hit cover of the '90s dance tune "Dying Inside" with Gforce Tweens.
He later sang a cover of Ella Mai's "Whatchamacallit" with AC Bonifacio, and closed the performance with a reprise of "Dying Inside."
As a birthday wish, his father, Lyndon, wants his son to fulfill his dreams.
"May all of your dreams come true and sana magtuloy-tuloy pa 'yung career mo," Lyndon said.
Morisette Amon, who shared the stage with Darren in the local version of "A Whole New World" also had a message for the young performer.
"(I wish you) all the best, and know that I am here for you," she said.
For his part, Espanto wants "genuine happiness" and "more blessings" as he celebrates his 18th birthday.
