MANILA - He prepared a different song for his "Idol Philippines" audition, but it was his second song that convinced the judges to send him to "Idol City."
Twenty-year-old Nic Galano first performed "Kailangan Kita."
Although the judges liked his voice, they felt the song does not suit him.
Galano then offered to sing a part of the hit song "Buwan."
"You should have sang that song at the start. There's a bit of like rock sound in his voice. I like that a lot better," James Reid told Galano.
"Yung first song nga parang naging medyo kritikal ako kasi nga parang hindi bagay for your age. Pero nung kinanta mo 'yung 'Buwan,' you have a very powerful voice," Regine Velasquez added.
Galano ended up getting four yesses from the judges.
Hosted by Billy Crawford, "Idol Philippines" airs Saturdays after "Home Sweetie Home" and Sundays after "Wansapanataym."
