'Maria Flordeluna' writer Marcos Navarro Sacol dies at 81

MANILA -- Veteran writer-director Marcos Navarro Sacol has passed away last Saturday, May 18, in Cebu due to kidney failure. He was 81.

The sad news was confirmed to ABS-CBN News by his granddaughter Joann on Tuesday.
Sacol was best known as the writer of the hit Cebuano radio drama "Maria Flordeluna," which was adapted to TV series titled "Flordeluna" which starred Janice de Belen.

Aside from "Flordeluna," Sacol also wrote the classic Cebuano film "Ang Manok ni San Pedro."

He was also behind the Cebuano TV dramas "Milyonaryong Mini" and "Si Goot Da Wanderpol." 

Sacol's remains are at St. Peter Funeral Homes in Cebu City.
