MANILA — For the first time since "Four Sisters and a Wedding," stars Toni Gonzaga and Angel Locsin reunited onscreen, at least virtually, as they reminisced about the 2013 modern classic.
Gonzaga and Locsin portrayed the titular siblings, along with Bea Alonzo and Shaina Magdayao, in the well-loved film from Star Cinema and director Cathy Garcia-Molina.
They talked about the movie's lasting impact during the recent pilot of "I Feel U," ABS-CBN's new online talk show hosted by Gonzaga.
Locsin, who was among the maiden episode's guests, said the enduring popularity of "Four Sisters and a Wedding," especially on social media with memes coming up every now and then, was not something she expected.
"'Pag gumagawa kasi tayo ng pelikula, hindi mo maiisip na, 'Ay, malaki impact nito sa mga tao.' Gusto mo lang pagandahin 'yung trabaho mo, hindi ka mapagalitan ni direk, sana kumita. Iyon lang 'yung na sa isip mo sa mga panahon na 'yun, e," she said.
"Magugulat ka na lang na hanggang ngayon, na sa Netflix siya, nag-te-trending pa rin siya," Locsin added.
The topic dredged up fun memories during the filming seven years ago. Locsin recalled they would hide inside a closet for merienda because of a rule prohibiting eating on set, while Gonzaga remembered her "baskil" (wet underarms) episode when now-Star Cinema head Olivia Lamasan stood in as director in the absence of Garcia-Molina.
Gonzaga also shared with viewers that even back then, Locsin's heart for helping was evident. At the time, Locsin would ask for donations for causes she was supporting, according to Gonzaga.
