Sarah Geronimo enlisted the help of former “The Voice Kids” contestants Darren Espanto and Kyle Echarri, who were both from her team, to try and win the heart of a 16-year-old singer from Leyte.
Ivan Navares, who is used to joining singing competitions, auditioned on “The Voice Teens” where he performed “In Your Eyes.”
Except for Bamboo Mañalac, all coaches turned for him and they were impressed by the low register of his voice.
Lea Salonga said Navares has his own singing style, which can’t easily be taught to teenagers.
Sharon Cuneta said she is excited to work with Navares in case he picks her as a coach.
After hearing what the coaches had to say and with the help of Espanto and Echarri, Navares eventually decided to join Geronimo’s team.
Hosted by Luis Manzano and Toni Gonzaga, "The Voice Teens" airs Saturdays after "Home Sweetie Home" and Sundays after "Goin' Bulilit."
