One of Joey Marquez's daughters were among 3,747 who passed the 2016 bar exams, celebrating her success with gratitude to her father.
In a Facebook post last Thursday, Jowee Ann Marquez expressed her joy in hurdling the Bar and thanked the people who supported her including her father.
"Papa, thank you for making me stronger, who I am today, for pushing me to strive harder and higher in everything that I do. You have taught me lessons I never would have learned in a classroom. Thank you," Jowee Ann told her father.
A report by PEP.ph says Jowee Ann finished Political Science at the Ateneo De Manila University and took up Law at San Beda College Alabang.
Jowee Ann is Joey's daughter with former actress Brenda del Rio. They have another daughter, Zia Marquez, who starred in the now defunct ABS-CBN show "Abt Ur Luv."
Zia, in a Facebook post, expressed how proud she is of her sister.
"That day when my sister became a lawyer, I love you Ate Jowee. I'm so proud of you, today marks one of the happiest days of my life ❤️ After everything you had to go through, this day finally arrived," Zia said.
Out of 6,344 examinees, a record-making 59.06 percent passed the bar, the highest in recent history, according to the Supreme Court.
