MANILA—With how popular is TikTok nowadays, people should really change the old expression “15 minutes of fame” to 15 seconds.
That is the maximum amount of time the app's users get in their quest for fame online, precious few seconds that Filipinos can now also use to make their break into local showbiz.
This, after Viva Artists Agency announced a new talent contest aimed specifically at those good at TikTok, promising P50,000 cash, a management contract, a makeover, and acting classes to the winner.
Viva posted the mechanics of the contest this Friday, encouraging interested applicants to be as “imaginative” and “playful” as they can be with their audition pieces, featuring either their singing, dancing, or acting skills. One must use their real voice, organizers said.
The contest will run until May 24.
The TikTok contest is a first for Viva, one of the country's biggest talent agencies which counts stars such as Vice Ganda, Sarah Geronimo, and Anne Curtis in its roster.
