MANILA - A 23-year-old man from Olongapo City is the first to get the coveted "golden ticket" on the pilot episode of "Idol Philippines" Sunday.

Juancho Gabriel wowed the judges with his baritone as he performed the country tune "Your Man" by Josh Turner.

"Masaya ako sa performance mo. You look great, you seem very confident. You're talented, sobrang good vibes 'yung performance mo," judge James Reid told Gabriel.

"Parang nakikiliti ako every time ginagawa mo 'yung mababa...Parang wala na akong masyadong naririnig na baritone. So it's a very unique sound, tapos 'yung tone mo, kakaiba rin. I actually like it," Regine Velasquez added.

Gabriel received four "yesses" from the judges and will be competing in the next round.

Hosted by Billy Crawford, "Idol Philippines" airs Saturdays after "Home Sweetie Home" and Sundays after "Wansapanataym."
