MANILA -- Nadine Lustre is still hoping that she will be able to star in director Jun Robles Lana's upcoming movie "The Nurse."
In an interview with ABS-CBN News' Jeff Fernando on Tuesday, the actress admitted that she is still waiting for updates about the project.
"Actually hindi ko pa po alam ang update doon. Pero tingnan natin, hintayin natin ang update ng VIVA regarding the movie," Lustre said.
"With the schedule medyo tight po kasi pero hopefully, sana po," added Lustre who admitted that she personally wants to do the movie because it's different from her past projects.
"It's a good material po kasi and it's different from other projects that I've done before, medyo suspense and thriller. Pero let's see. If it's meant for me makukuha ko naman yon," said Lustre.
"The Nurse," which was initially billed as a solo starrer for Lustre, was first announced in August 2017.
But last week, Lana confirmed on Twitter that Lustre will no longer be starring in his horror flick.
Using the hashtags #SorryNotHappening and #MovingOn, Lana explained that a "scheduling conflict" set back the progress of the movie.
"Been waiting too long and it’s taken too much of my time. Going to Japan 2x to prep is no joke. Time to move and let go and recast. Thanks for the interest, guys," Lana said.
"My film. My rules," he added.
Lustre is currently busy promoting her movie "Never Not Love You" with boyfriend James Reid.
Meanwhile, Lustre also shrugged off the negative comments she has been receiving about her work.
"Hindi naman nila ako masyadong kilala and all. Ako, as long as 'yung ginagawa ko ay maganda ang lumalabas, that's what is important... Parang okay naman 'yung resulta ng mga projects na ginagawa ko. So it's up to them but I'm not affected," she said.
