MANILA - Ina Raymundo has previously described her daughter Erika as camera-shy.
But with Erika's looks and talent, it is obvious that she is a natural for show business.
Fortunately, Raymundo's daughter is now more open to exploring this option.
“Kasi mahilig din siyang kumanta,” she said in an interview with Push. “So ngayon, nasa crossroad siya ng buhay niya na hindi niya alam kung ipe-pursue ba niya.”
Now that Erika is about to graduate from high school, Raymundo said she is allowing her daughter to carefully think of what she wants to do next.
“Feeling ko she’ll end up taking a gap year na isang buong taon na hahanapin niya muna kung anong gusto niyang gawin sa buhay kesa 'yung mag-decide kung anong course tapos biglang magpapalit din. So ako kung ano 'yung gusto niya sa buhay niya supportive ako,” she said.
But if she and her husband would have it their way, the “Block Z” actress said she wants Erika to go to college first.
“Pero kung hindi niya talaga nararamdaman, hindi namin siya kukulitin. Kasi ‘di ba, adult na siya eh. You cannot stop her,” she said.
With how things are, Raymundo said she could only remind her daughter to always pray to be guided on which path to take.
“Prayers na lang. Mahirap din kasing pangunahan eh. Alam mo naman ang panahon ngayon. She’s very independent kasi. Reverse psychology 'yung parang mas nagwo-work sa kanya so parang it’s best na not to really insist on doing something. Parang I’m letting her figure it out,” she said.
