MANILA – It’s not only their fans who are affected by their breakup.

Even their colleagues in the entertainment industry could not help but express how saddened they were when they learned about the breakup of James Reid and Nadine Lustre.

Following the release of their statement on Monday, netizens and celebrities alike took to social media their initial reaction about the shocking news.

Among those who were surprised by their separation was Robi Domingo, who even posted a piano cover of “On the Wings of Love.” Reid and Lustre starred in a series with a similar title.

It elicited a reaction from Bianca Gonzalez, asking why did he have to post something painful like that.

To which, Domingo replied: “Sorry ate B, one of the best interview I had was with them kaya masakit.”

Meanwhile, Antoinette Jadaone, who directed “On the Wings of Love,” as well as Iza Calzado, shared their feelings about the breakup by commenting with broken heart emojis.

Another celebrity who was saddened by the news was singer Jed Madela.

“Awww nalungkot ako when I saw the tweets about Jadine. Was always vocal about being a fan since OTWOL,” he wrote.

“Ganun ba ako ka-affected na nanonood ako ng OTWOL clips ngayon? Oo... faney din ako,” he added.

DJ Chacha, for her part, called on those spreading speculations about Reid and Lustre’s breakup.

“Yung totoo mga sist, kayo ba yung nasa relasyon? This is a difficult moment for James and Nadine baka pwedeng tantanan muna natin sila. Pwede yon?” she said.

Reid and Lustre confirmed their split through a joint statement released via the live January 20 episode of “Tonight with Boy Abunda.”

“It’s true that we have split up, but not for all the reasons that are being spread on the tabloids and social media, but because after quiet and mature conversations, we decided to focus on ourselves not only for our careers but more for our personal growth as we are still young and we want to achieve as much as we can,” they said.

“We agreed that going separate ways was best for both of us. We are in good terms and are still really good friends and will continue to work with each other especially when it comes to music,” they added.

Early this week, the two appeared to be friendly in Brazil — where they shot a fashion editorial — as they pulled faces in an Instagram Stories update from Lustre.

“Thank you for all the JaDine fans for their undying support and we hope you continue to support us now and in the future. We shall forever be grateful to them for their love and understanding. Thank you,” they added.
