MANILA - A former member of dance group XB Gensan is seeking another chance as he showed off his skills on Sunday's episode of "World of Dance."
Jay admitted that success went to his head after his former group won on "It's Showtime." He then decided to leave the group, but felt empty.
He is now seeking another chance to do what he does best --dancing.
"Jay, parang wala kami dito sa studio. In-own mo 'yung stage ng World of Dance Philippines," Maja Salvador told Jay.
"Isa ka sa mga dahilan kung bakit ang galing ng XB Gensan," she added.
Gary Valenciano, for his part, said: "Ang pinapanood natin ngayon na magsayaw dito ay isang champion."
Former "It's Showtime" host, Billy Crawford, held back tears as he talked to Jay.
"Kaya ako nagiging emosyonal kasi ilang taon ko kayo nakasama... Kaya ako naiyak, 'yung respeto mo pa rin, 'tol. Pumunta ka dito para patunayan, hindi lang sa amin, pero patunayan lang sa sarili mo na kaya mo pa," Crawford said.
Jay received an average score of 90 points.
Contestants will only need at least a score of 80 to move to the second round. They will be judged based on performance, technique, choreography, creativity, and presentation. The maximum score is 100.
"World of Dance Philippines" airs Saturdays after "Home Sweetie Home" and Sundays after "Wansapanataym."
