Hosts of “It’s Showtime” welcomed 2019 with a fun-filled number on Tuesday, where they channeled performers or personalities who made waves online and in the music scene in the past year.
The opening performance saw the GirlTrends, Hashtags, and Ryan Bang taking on dance moves popularized by K-pop supergroups.
The duo of Jugs Jugueta and Teddy Corpuz, meanwhile, performed a timeless hit from the iconic Guns N’ Roses, who finally rocked Manila in their first concert here last November.
Jhong Hilario was Drake, and Vhong Navarro was Bruno Mars with their back-to-back turns on stage.
The finale was Vice Ganda donning a long black wig, throwing his head back and forth, in between two shirtless men — a viral moment popularized by Mader Sitang of Thailand.
“It’s Showtime,” which started as a morning talent show in 2009, is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. It teased a revamped studio to mark the milestone, along with the nearing grand finals of its hit segments Miss Q&A and Tawag ng Tanghalan.
