MANILA - The government will set up a website to simplify the processing of trading requirements and cut red tape, the Department of Finance (DOF) said Monday.

Finance Undersecretary Gil Beltran said the website--TradeNet.gov.ph--will connect 66 agencies and 10 economic zones involved in approving import and export permits and other trading requirements.

He added that by December, the website will be interconnected to the ASEAN Single Window--an initiative that aims to speed up cargo clearances and enable the electronic exchange of border documents among ASEAN’s 10 member-states.

Beltran said TradeNet.gov.ph is being developed by the Department of Information and Communications Technology, while the DOF handles the onboarding of agencies to the system.
