MANILA – Coca-Cola Beverages Philippines Inc. (CCBPI) on Thursday said it would acquire logistics company The Red Systems Company Inc. (TRCI) and regularize its employees.

Around 1,800 TRCI workers will be regularized with the acquisition, the local bottling partner of the popular beverage brand said in a statement.

“In the course of the years that we have been engaging with TRCI, we have witnessed from them a degree of professionalism and efficiency that complements CCBPI’s ambitious goals for continuous growth and industry excellence,” CCBPI president and CEO Gareth McGeown said.

“With this merger, we demonstrate our continued confidence and support for the country’s economy and its people, whom we ever so proudly serve,” he added.

The Department of Labor and Employment has guided the company during the process, McGeown said.

The merger is subject to the approval of relevant government agencies, said.
