MANILA - The Department of Transportation on Wednesday said the construction of the P9.5 billion LRT 2 East Extension Project was more than halfway complete.
Construction of the project, which will add 4 kilometers of railway tracks from Santolan in Pasig City to Masinag in Antipolo City, is 61.93 percent complete, the DOTr said.
Once operational, the extension line is expected to reduce travel time from Antipolo to Recto, Manila to 40 minutes from around 3 hours, the transport department earlier said.
The extension is expected to begin operations in the fourth quarter of 2020.
