MANILA - Maynilad Water Services Inc said Wednesday it would provide free water to 3 government buildings that were converted into COVID-19 treatment centers.

The Rizal Memorial Sports Complex, Philippine International Convention Center and the World Trade Center, with an estimated 1,000 bed capacity, will get the free service for the entire length of operations, the Pangilinan-led utility distributor said in a statement.

The government converted the 3 facilities into COVID-19 centers in 10 days to boost its capacity for quarantine and treatment of infected and suspected patients and ease the burden on major hospitals.

Maynilad has also extended assistance to select DPWH disinfection stations, and to frontliners by donating drinking water.
