MANILA - Passengers using the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) can now get free bus rides from the terminal to Baclaran, Lawton, EDSA, and Monumento, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) said Thursday.
Three airconditioned buses will ply the PITX-Lawton-Baclaran route, while three other buses will ply the PITX-Edsa-Monumento route from Monday to Friday under the "Serbus" project.
The DOTr said Serbus was an initiative of the DOTr, the Megawide Corporate Foundation, and civic organization Junior Chamber International Senate Philippines (formerly Philippine Jaycees) or JCI Senate Philippines.
Aside from the 6 Serbus units, 3 buses from the Philippine Coast Guard and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority also ferry passengers for free from the PITX to the Mall of Asia.
The DOTr was heavily criticized last year after the launch of the PITX resulted in long queues of passengers waiting at the terminal because not enough public utility vehicles (PUVs) were using it.
