MANILA – Flash sales, promos and exclusive offers make e-commerce fun, encouraging more users to shop online, the COO of electronic marketplace Lazada said Friday.
Lazada is also working to improve its delivery services and make its interface better for sellers and customers, said COO Carlos Barrera. The company plans to open another warehouse in Pampanga and is studying other potential locations in Northern Luzon.
"What we try to do is always generate a very good experience. In our opinion, e-commerce must be fun. Our main objective is to make e-commerce even more attractive than going shopping offline," Barrera told ANC.
In 2018, Lazada reported 1 billion site visits during its 11.11 and 12.12 campaigns. Barrera said the "nascent" industry still had a "great growth opportunity" this year.
Beauty and mother and baby products are still the strongest categories for Lazada. Local sellers are also gaining momentum on the platform, Barrera said.
