MANILA - The government aims to restore power in 669,766 households affected by Typhoon "Nina" (international name: Nock-Ten) before the end of the month, the National Electrification Administration (NEA) said Friday.

Close to 1,000 workers have been deployed to repair power lines in Albay, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Catanduanes and other areas NEA administrator Ed Masongsong told ANC's "Headstart."

"Nina" slammed into the Bicol region on Christmas Day and plowed through Southern Luzon, triggering floods and landslides that killed at least three people.

It toppled major power transmission lines, leaving millions to spend the holidays in darkness
