MANILA - Several large private corporations have committed to give donations for the construction of drug rehabilitation centers to support the Duterte administration's war on drugs, Interior Secretary Ismael Sueno said Thursday.

Sueno said among the companies that will fund the facilities are San Miguel Corp., Megaworld Corp., DMCI, and Ayala Corp.

San Miguel Corp. president and chief operation COO Ramon Ang earlier said the company would donate P1 billion to build drug rehab centers.

Megaworld has also agreed to donate P1.4 billion, Sueno said.

A mega drug rehabilitation center occupying a land area of 11 hectares was built in Nueva Ecija to house 10,000 patients.

The facility was donated by Chinese real estate billionaire Huang Rulun.-- Report from Willard Cheng, ABS-CBN News
