It was an evening of purely good vibes and positive energy. And why wouldn’t it be? It was a gathering of people with a similar goal: to do what they can for a better world.
United with shared passions and advocacies, ANCX’s featured personalities in its Heroes & Titans campaign gathered for a celebratory night of sumptuous food and and good wine at the Tasting Room of Nüwa Manila in City of Dreams last July 4.
More on Hereos and Titans:

- Heroes & Titans: These champions of heritage say a city’s identity is in its unique stories
- Heroes & Titans: Chefs Jam Melchor and Josh Boutwood on the future of our food

- Heroes & Titans: These culture movers are also working on preserving our country’s endemic trees
In his opening remarks, Creative Programs Inc. (CPI) and Business Deveopment head Paolo Pineda recognized and thanked the advocates for their valuable contributions in promoting various causes related to sustainable fashion, food, environment and heritage conservation, literacy, and healthy living. They are Rags2Riches founding partner Reese Fernandez and H&M head of communication and press Dan Mejia; heritage conservation specialist Eric Zerrudo and landscape architect and urban planner Paulo Alcazaren; slow food advocate Jam Melchor and executive chef Josh Boutwood; National Book Store Group managing director Xandra Ramos and Library Renewal Partnership founder Quintin Pastrana; Organique Açaí’s president and CEO Cathy Salimbangon and Malipayon Farms proprietor Gejo Jimenez; and Lopez Group Foundation president and executive director Cedie Lopez Vargas and Pinto Art Museum founder Dr. Joven Cuanang.
The video series and the individual stories of the personalities were all featured on ANCX.PH the entire month of June and early July. Through the campaign, ANCX and co-presenter Organique Açaí hope to inspire readers that it is possible to contribute their time and effort, big or small, to nation building and to making a better future for the coming generation.
Organique Açaí’s Salimbangon, on the other hand, encouraged everyone to stay inspired and motivated in pursuing their respective passions, and stressed how overall wellness is essential in “Making it Possible to Celebrate Life”—the campaign’s theme.
The night was highlighted with a wine toast and a special three-course dinner prepared by Chef de Cuisine Frederic Thevenet of Nüwa Manila. The dinner was also the closing event for the Tasting Room which will be undergoing a shift: in a few months, the space is going to open as a food and entertainment lounge.
The ANCX Heroes and Titans campaign was made possible by the following: Nina Leather Goods and Gifts; The Write Impression; Dave Sandoval; Astrid Leather; Tatstone; Ralph's Wines and Spirits; City of Dreams; Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila, Hilton Manila; and Resorts World Manila.
