MANILA -- Bacolod is one of the most idyllic countryside locations in the Philippines. It is a charming place filled with verdant scenery, including hectares of sugar cane, owned by generations of hacenderos.

With its distinct rural setting, amped with modern conveniences, Bacolod has been named numerous times as one of the "Best Places to Live in the Philippines" by renowned real estate portal Lamudi Philippines.

Come home to a picturesque environment of having the most private and most comfortable life imaginable in the suburbs-as property giant Megaworld officially starts construction of Forbes Hill, the first and most upscale residential village in Bacolod today.

Located inside the 53-hectare Northill Gateway, Forbes Hill will let future residents take advantage of Megaworld's pioneering township lifestyle concept. The township will soon have mixed-use office and retail developments, leisure and recreational amenities and institutional facilities.

Dubbed as Bacolod's most luxurious village, Forbes Hill features its own courtyard garden entrance with a giant European-inspired fountain and first-of-its-kind lifestyle amenities. It elevates the impression of space and exclusivity in the region with its limited 197 available titled lots ranging from 449 sqm to 916 sqm (approximately 13 lots per hectare).

Forbes Hill is just two minutes away from The Ruins, a major tourist attraction in Negros Occidental.

Lot owners in Forbes Hill will have a free hand in designing their own homes in the village, while taking advantage of the Negros mountain ranges and a vast sugar cane plantation as their backdrop. The property also has about five hectares for parks and pocket gardens, and half a hectare for lifestyle indoor and outdoor amenities. Its clubhouse complex houses a multifunction hall, a fitness center, a game room, an audio visual room as well as an outdoor lap pool, a children's pool, a gazebo, a basketball court, among others.

Megaworld's joint venture partners Eugene Lacson Gawad, Anna Liza Fregil-Lacson, Philip Lacson and Suzette Lacson; Rachelle Peñaflorida, VP for sales and marketing, Megaworld Bacolod; November Canieso-Yeo, sales director, Megaworld Bacolod; Engr. Jed Tolosa, site engineer, Megaworld Bacolod; and Nichole B. Jocson, project manager, DK Jocson Construction.

"Fully recognizing the refined market in Western Negros, Forbes Hill is Megaworld's first venture into developing a luxury village outside of Metro Manila," says Rachelle Penaflorida, vice president for sales and marketing, Megaworld Premiere Bacolod.

Forbes Hill is part of the 53-hectare Northill Gateway, which is envisioned to become an integrated urban township for the sophisticated Negrense. A joint development of Megaworld and its wholly owned subsidiary Suntrust Properties, Inc., in partnership with the Lacson family, Northill Gateway will house upscale residential villages, mixed-use office and retail developments, leisure and recreational amenities, as well as institutional facilities.

The development follows the success of Megaworld's premier residential villages in Metro Manila such as McKinley Hill Village and McKinley West Village in Fort Bonifacio, Corinthian Hills in Quezon City, Pahara in Southwoods City and Alabang West in Las Pinas.
