Home is where the heart is, and for many OFWs, it's found back in the Philippines with their family.
"My parents and my children are my inspiration; they give me the strength to work here even though we're far apart. This is all for them," said Robina Reaño, a native of Hagonoy, Bulacan and an OFW residing in Singapore for seven years.
Her years working abroad have been fruitful, and she's proud to have been able to provide for her two children and her extended family. But she admitted that she wouldn't want her own kids to experience the hardship and sacrifice of being separated from those they love.
"I had to make the hard decision, because I wanted to give them a better life. If I had the choice, and if there was the opportunity to work back home, I'd take it in a heartbeat," she said in the vernacular.
During her years abroad, she had only been home twice.
What she misses most is being present for the important celebrations.
"I've been blessed with so many things, but what I wish for is to be with my family this Christmas -- to hug my mother and father, and my children. Christmas is all about family, so I hope we can be together soon," she said.
In this season of giving, multi-awarded marketing company Frontrow brought Filipino families together and flew their loved ones back home.
