Christmas is one of the most anticipated holidays in the country. It is the perfect season for families to get together, share fond moments, and savor a hearty Noche Buena feast.
For overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who have sacrificed being away from families for years, the holiday season is an opportunity to bring each other up to speed on missed milestones, and make up for lost times. And for their loved ones, Christmas is the best time to show gestures of gratitude and appreciation.
A short digital film entitled "Kami Naman" has recently made waves online for appreciating the hard work of OFWs. It features scenes that OFWs and their families know all too well.
The film started with a father leaving his wife and son behind to work abroad. Come Christmas Eve, the son is looking for his father. Years have gone and the father missed significant moments in his son's life. It ends with the father finally coming home because his son has become a successful adult.
The short flick, produced by Century Properties, is the first of a series that tackles the theme of giving back to OFWs. The next films will also be released on Facebook and Youtube, according to the company.
To help families celebrate the holiday together, Century Properties has launched "Bring Them Home for Christmas" contest where round-trip tickets to Manila for OFW beneficiaries are at stake.
Participants can share any of the videos under the Kami Naman campaign from Century Properties Facebook page with an accompanying caption of how they have given back to their loved ones abroad. The post should contain the hashtag #KamiNaman and a @CenturyPropertiesOfficial tag. The social media account must be set to 'Public' to qualify.
Three winners will get round-trip tickets to Manila for their OFW beneficiaries. The promo runs from November 12 to January 12 next year. Winners will be announced on January 14, 2019.
